Why Try to Motivate Your Employees?

There are a thousand different dynamics that affect employees, their attitudes, productivity, and longevity in a job. The unanswered questions are always related to what makes someone happy in the workplace and why do they stay? Is an employer obligated to motivate the people they have hired to get the job done or should that worker come to their tasks sufficiently ready to put their intellectual or physical shoulder into the job? There clearly isn't a formula to resolve these questions prior to hiring or even after an employee has begun their job. But there are certain approaches and philosophies that work, and can mak a difference for a company and its community.
